Deleting your account

You can close your MeYou account yourself, from inside the app, and everything goes with it. Nothing is kept back, and there is no waiting period.
How
- Open MeYou and tap your initial, top right.
- Scroll to Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what it lists, then confirm.
The app tells you when it is done and returns you to the sign-in screen. It cannot be undone, and we cannot bring an account back after it is closed.
What is deleted
- Everything MeYou remembers about you: every fact it learned, and what it linked those facts to.
- Every conversation, spoken and written, in the app and on WhatsApp.
- Your journal, the photos and documents you shared, and what MeYou read in them.
- Your reminders, and anything you asked MeYou to go and do.
- Your account itself: email address, phone number, the name you chose, your settings.
- Your sign-in.
MeYou keeps each person's memory in databases of their own rather than in shared tables, so closing an account removes those databases outright. Nothing is left behind under another name.
What is kept, and for how long
Nothing about you. Accounting records of payments, where there were any, are kept for as long as Estonian law requires, and they carry no conversation and no memory. Server logs that mention an account identifier age out within thirty days.
If you cannot reach the app
Write to meyou@meyou.ai from the address you signed up with, and ask for your account to be deleted. A person answers, and the account is closed the same way. We will only ask you for enough to be sure the request is yours.
Your rights
Deleting an account is one of the rights the GDPR gives you. You may also ask for a copy of your data or its correction, see Privacy, or write to the same address.
